You think your own home renovation is fraught with challenges and unexpected expenses: imagine trying to do a reno on a tiger enclosure! The Phoenix Zoo is undertaking some ambitious new projects with help from supporters to renovate and expand existing animal enclosures as well as prepare for new arrivals. The work will likely keep Phoenix roofers and others busy as they build, rebuild, and secure from the ground up to help make the zoo a world-class facility.
Since it was founded in 1962, the facility has gone from being a relatively small local zoo to a world-recognized breeding and conservation facility. The renovation projects include outreach and education centers for humans as well as more comfortable homes for animal residents, all part of a national trend in zoos to move away from entertainment and towards conservation. Make sure to check it out the next time you're in Phoenix!
