Anheuser-Busch sends canned water to Texas for relief effort

As southeast Texas is dealing with historic flooding from Hurricane Harvey, Oskar Blues and Anheuser-Busch are doing their parts to help by sending cans of drinking water to the region.

The Anheuser-Bush brewery in St. Louis stops production periodically throughout the year to prepare the canned water in case of emergencies. This year, Anheuser-Busch will deliver three truckloads, totaling 155,000 cans of water, to communities along the Gulf Coast.

Oskar Blues, through the nonprofit Can'd Aid Foundation, is taking donations to send another 88,800 cans of drinking water to people in need. The Colorado brewery has a facility in Brevard, North Carolina.

The deliveries for Harvey are not the first time AB has sent canned drinking water to emergency situations, though. Other shipments were made in 2016 to wildfire sites in California, flooding in Louisiana and Hurricane Matthew in North Carolina.
