Raleigh is one of the first stops on a new North American tour featuring the squeaky Alvin and the Chipmunks.

Alvin and the Chipmunks: Live on Stage! will perform two shows at the Duke Energy Center for Performing Arts on Oct. 11. The tour opens Oct. 5 in Toronto.

The show features the chipmunk trio, who will be accompanied by the Chipettes. A description says the show will feature world-class production, music, special effects and lots of audience participation.

The storyline follows Alvin, Simon and Theodore as they sing and dance their way across the country to a big charity concert. Along the way, they'll be performing chart toppers from One Direction, Maroon 5, Carly Rae Jepsen, Elvis Presley and more.

Tickets, which start at $25.36, will be on sale at 10 a.m., July 10.
