Alabama man charged in Cary bank robbery

The suspect is white with brown hair styled in a "messy comb-over."

CARY, N.C. — Police arrested an Alabama man on Wednesday in connection with the Monday robbery of an RBC Bank branch in Cary.

Joseph Campomenosi, 40, of Daphne, Ala., was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and four counts of second-degree kidnapping.

A man entered the bank, at 2920 Jones Franklin Road, shortly after noon Monday, confronted employees with a black semiautomatic handgun and demanded that money be put into a garbage bag, police said.

The robber, who was described as having a "messy comb-over," then fled in a white sedan with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No one was injured in the robbery.

The case remains under investigation, and no details were released regarding how police linked Campomenosi to the robbery.
