WILMINGTON, N.C. — An actor who starred in the 1996 Adam Sandler movie "Happy Gilmore" was charged Wednesday with driving drunk in downtown Wilmington, according to State Highway Patrol officials.

Christopher McDonald, 58, is charged with driving while impaired. Troopers said McDonald's blood-alcohol level was 0.15, almost twice the 0.08 level at which drivers are considered impaired under state law.
