Accident Shuts Down 2 of 3 Lanes on I-40 West

A Jeep Wrangler was attempting to switch lanes when it struck a flat-bed tractor trailer, authorities said. The jeep then spun out and struck a van.

DURHAM, N.C. — Two of three lanes were closed on I-40 West Saturday due to an accident involving a tractor trailer and two other vehicles.

The accident happened about 4:45 p.m. near mile marker 277 in Durham County.

A Jeep Wrangler was attempting to switch lanes when it struck a flat-bed tractor trailer, authorities said. The jeep then spun out and struck a van.

The passengers in the two vehicles both complained of some pains, but they were treated on the scene. No one was transported to the hospital, officials said.

No charges were filed as of 9 p.m. Saturday.
