Abandoned textile building burns in Fayettevile

Firefighters battled a blaze Sunday at an abandoned textile building in Fayetteville.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Firefighters battled a blaze Sunday at an abandoned textile building in Fayetteville.

The fire started at about 12:30 p.m. at the Texfi Industries building at 601 Hoffer Drive.

The blaze was contained to roofing and installation material inside the building, battalion commander Calvin Bishop said.

The textile facility closed over 20 years ago.

No injuries were reported. The cause remained under investigation.
