I had the great pleasure of attending the Sandbox band's concert at Morehead Planetarium and Science Center in Chapel Hill a couple of weeks ago with my older daughter.

The concert was part of Morehead's holiday concert series where local groups play "under the stars" of the planetarium. They handed out glow sticks to the kids, who bounced around in the darkness of the planetarium while parents sat back in the seats, enjoyed the music and watched the stars, northern lights and other scenes on the screen.

It's a really unique concert experience and I highly recommend it if they do it again next year.

I usually feature local moms in this space, but today, I thought I'd feature a little holiday music from the dads of Sandbox. Thanks to them for bringing so much fun music and entertaining banter to Go Ask Mom's events at North Hills and festivals and celebrations around the region.

I look forward to their next CD, set to come out next year!

So, with that, I'll leave you with the band playing "Blue Christmas," at Morehead Planetarium. Yeah, I know it's not fantastic video. It was completely dark, except for all the glow sticks. But the music is great.

As the band's Ed Hoffman, who plays guitar and sings, said, it's as if Sandbox played at a rave.

Merry Christmas!
