A holiday tradition continues at the WRAL Christmas Parade! The people of Raleigh joined together to kick off the 2012 Holiday Season, even Santa showed up to help celebrate the day!

Scandinavian Christmas Fair
Homemade Scandinavian food, live music and authentic folk dancing highlight this year’s Scandinavian Christmas Fair on Saturday at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $7 and children under 13 years old are admitted free.

Celtic Christmas
Tir na Nog is hosting its annual Celtic Christmas event Sunday from 4 to 9:30 p.m. Enjoy live music and Irish dancing, while you shop for special holiday gifts at celtic vendors and enjoy an Irish Christmas dinner. Admission is free but people are encouraged to bring new “non-violent” unwrapped toys for local charities or make a donation by purchasing the “Kids Need Christmas” CD.

Island of Lights

It might be chilly, but that doesn’t mean the beach isn’t the place to be this weekend. The Island of Lights Holiday Flotilla is Friday and Saturday at Carolina Beach. The parade is Friday night and the flotilla will light up the Intercoastal Waterway Saturday starting at 6 p.m. All events are free.
