CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — A 911 call released Tuesday in the shooting death of a 41-year-old Chapel Hill man inside his apartment this weekend offers new details about the ongoing investigation.

Officers found Drew Christopher Frasure dead of a single gunshot wound inside his apartment at 119A Ashley Forest Drive around 12:20 a.m. Sunday.

The caller, a woman visiting a friend who lives in a nearby apartment, told a 911 dispatcher that Frasure had been shot in the face.

She said she saw three young, white men wearing hats run out of the apartment and into the street.

"All of a sudden, they ran into the house. I heard a shot, and they all ran out," the caller said.

She said that Frasure knew the shooter.

"He knows who it was," she told the dispatcher.

Investigators have said that Frasure's death does not appear to be random.

They urged anyone with information to call police at 919-968-2760 or Crime Stoppers at 919-942-7515.
