91-year-old woman dies after getting hit by car while riding mobility scooter

Raleigh police said the crash happened near the intersection of Country Trail and Glenwood Avenue.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A 91-year-old woman died Friday night at the hospital after she got hit by a car while riding a mobility scooter, Raleigh police said.

Raleigh police said it happened around 4:45 p.m. near the intersection of Country Trail and Glenwood Avenue.

The car hit the woman while she was crossing the street, according to the police.

Authorities have not released the name of the woman as of 11 p.m. Friday.

Police said the driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with officers. The scene has also cleared.

As of 11 p.m. Friday, there is no word on whether the driver will face charges.
