An 83-year-old woman was hit and killed Saturday by a minivan as she was walking along a Robeson County road.

<b>PEMBROKE, N.C.</b> — An 83-year-old woman was hit and killed Saturday by a minivan as she was walking along a Robeson County road.<br />

Louise Oxendine Barton, of 286 Redmond Road, was walking along Deep Ranch Road about 6:40 p.m. when she was hit by the 2000 Mercury, driven by Mattie Jacobs, 53, of J.C. Hut Road, the Robeson County Highway Patrol said.<br />

Authorities were not expected to file charges against Jacob, they said.
