72-year-old man severely injured after being hit by driver in Fayetteville

A pedestrian has life-threatening injuries after being struck near the intersection of Ramsey Street and Facility Drive in Fayetteville.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A pedestrian has life-threatening injuries after being struck near the intersection of Ramsey Street and Facility Drive in Fayetteville.

Police responded at 11:13 a.m. on Saturday morning.

Martha T. Lockley, 76, hit a man named Jerry McDonald, age 72,  with her Mercury Sedan, according to officials at the scene.

McDonald remains at the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Ramsey Street has reopened completely, but was originally closed down to one lane of traffic as officials rerouted drivers while Fayetteville Police Department’s Traffic Unit conducted an investigation.
