3 Doors Down cancels Raleigh concert in response to new COVID-19 regulations

A rock band is no longer scheduled to come to Raleigh because of recently implemented COVID-19 regulations.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A rock band is no longer scheduled to come to Raleigh because of recently implemented COVID-19 regulations.

3 Doors Down was set to play at Red Hat Amphitheater on Oct. 7 as part of its The Better Life 20th Anniversary Tour. On Wednesday, the band announced on social media that upcoming performances in Raleigh and Atlanta were off. Refunds will be issued.

A statement from the band read:

Unfortunately, we will be cancelling our shows in Raleigh, NC (10.7) and Atlanta, GA (10.9) due to new regulations put in place since the announcement of these shows. Refunds will be issued at the point of purchase. Simpsonville, SC (10.8) is still on. West Palm Beach, FL (10.16) is moving from iThink Financial to Mizner Park in Boca Raton, FL. VIP packages for this show have been canceled due to the change in venue however ALL tickets will still be honored from iThink Financial for Mizner Park.

We apologize for any and all inconveniences. We love you and hope to see you again soon.

There were no further details regarding the band's stance on COVID regulations.

All shows promoted by Live Nation, including those at Red Hat Amphitheatre, Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek and The Ritz will require proof of vaccination or negative COVID tests for all events after Oct. 1.

Red Hat welcomed back live music in May. The Killers were set to play a concert at Red Hat on Sept. 27 before the show was canceled.

3 Doors Down enjoyed a run of stardom in 2000, when The Better Life was released. The album carried popular hits such as "Kryptonite" and "Loser."
