RALEIGH, N.C. — In a year that saw Death and Taxes and Standard Foods finally open, we also said goodbye to a few well-loved places. Here's a look at some of the biggest headlines for Triangle restaurants in 2015.

Openings

Standard Foods restaurant and grocery opened its doors after a much-anticipated wait.
Ashley Christensen's latest venture, Death & Taxes, opened to the public at 105 Hargett St. in downtown Raleigh.
The Raleigh Beer Garden opened in Glenwood South and was awarded a Guinness World Record for most number of taps.
Rise donuts and biscuits took over the Triangle area with locations opening in Morrisville and Raleigh this year.
Kamado Grill opened in the old Lucky 32 location, 832 Spring Forest Road, in north Raleigh.
P.G. Werth's Restaurant and Market opened in the bottom floor of the apartment building at 927 W. Morgan St. in Raleigh.
Treat ice cream shop opened its doors in City Market in downtown Raleigh.
More. kitchen and bar opened at 116 N. West St. in Raleigh.
Person Street Pharmacy opened the doors to its cafe.
Porchetta and American Meltdown food trucks opened brick-and-mortar locations at the Streets of Southpoint mall in Durham.
Gonza Tacos y Tequila opened its newest location in the Aloft Hotel on Hillsborough Street in Raleigh.

Re-locations and redesigns

Taverna Agora relocated to 326 Hillsborough St. in Raleigh.
Il Palio at the Siena Hotel in Chapel Hill opened with a new menu and look after its first major renovation in more than two decades.
The Carolina Inn's decorated restaurant underwent its first major renovation in two decades. The former Carolina Crossroads Restaurant reopened this year under the new name, Crossroads.
Cantina 18 in Cameron Village recently reopened after a huge renovation this year.
The Blue Note Grill reopened at its new location at 709 Washington St. in Durham.
G2B in Durham celebrated the grand opening of its nanobrewery.
The Parlour, located at 117 Market St. in Durham, expanded into the space next door formerly occupied by Playworks.
Dos Taquitos announced that it would be moving from Creedmoor Road into the old Taverna Agora building at 6101 Glenwood Ave. in Raleigh.
Big Ed's opened its second Raleigh location in the Quail Corners Shopping Center in north Raleigh.

Hello, goodbye

BigBoom opened in the former Red Room tapas space at 510 Glenwood Ave. in Raleigh. It closed and about a month later, 510 Tavern opened in the space.

Farewell

Tir na Nog Irish Pub closed its doors in downtown Raleigh.
Natty Greene's also closed its doors in downtown Raleigh.
Piebird in Five Points in Raleigh also closed.
Battistella's in City Market in Raleigh closed in December.
Straw Valley Food and Drink and The Black House at Straw Valley in Durham closed for restructuring and improvements to the facility.
Tom + Chee closed its doors not long after opening at 370 E. Main St. in Carrboro.
518 West in Glenwood South closed its doors in April.
Lime Fresh Mexican Grill on Chapel Hill’s Franklin Street closed.
Over in Durham, Monuts owners Rob Gillespie and Lindsay Moriarty announced this year that they would be closing their original Parrish Street location so that they can focus on their larger/newer location on Ninth Street in the former Magnolia Grill location.
TerraFin Station in Garner, The Fire Pit in Wake Forest and Quail Corners Creamery in Raleigh also said farewell this year.
