2012-13 Children's Series: N.C. State's Kidstuff Series on hiatus

One of the region's more popular children's series will be on hiatus this year and maybe next.

N.C. State has put its Kidstuff Series on hold because of construction at the Talley Student Center, which is home to Stewart Theatre where the shows are staged.

The series, which offers weekday programs for school groups and weekend shows for families, usually brings in professional theater groups from New York and elsewhere. They often perform theatrical productions of popular children's books.

"We're going to be without Stewart Theatre for at least two years," he said.

Tulbert had worked to find an alternate venue for the children's programming, but it fell through.

While there isn't any programming specifically geared for children, Tulbert said a show featuring Tomas Kubinek in March is one families will enjoy.

He'll perform at 8 p.m., March 15 and March 16, at Titmus Theatre on N.C. State's campus. Tickets are $26.
