Someone killed Tamikal McNair's 20-year-old brother Sharrod McNair, on New Year's Eve, 2006.

"When my brother died, a part of me died too, and I've been lost ever since," she said. "I've been angry for years. All I want and all I ask for is closure.

It was the second tragedy for the family. Ella McNair had already lost one son to murder, and then she lost Sherrod.

"He was just a softhearted, sweet guy," she said. "It's just something that's strong, that I really want to be taken care of.

Sharrod McNair was shot to death after an argument outside the Marvell Event Center. Investigators included the case in a unique crime fighting effort: A deck of playing cards, distributed to local jails and detention centers with specifics on several unsolved homicides.   The hope is they will trigger an inmate's memory or compel them to call Durham Crimestoppers.
