CLINTON, N.C. — Authorities found dead roosters in a wooded area of northern Sampson County and charged two men with cockfighting.

Joel Morales Temich and Narciro Morales Temich, both of Dunn, were arrested over the weekend, when authorities searching an area off Mingo Church Road found a cockfighting ring. The men each face six counts of cruelty to animals and one count of cockfighting.

Authorities said they seized six roosters, medications given to the birds before fights and razor blades, which are usually attached to the birds' legs during fights.
