Whether you love to play bluegrass music or just listen, you'll enjoy the PineCone Bluegrass Jam at Busy Bee Cafe in downtown Raleigh at 7 p.m. Come out and show off your skills!

Like indie bands? David Bazan will perform at Cat's Cradle at 8 p.m. tonight. Tickets are $15.

The "Got To Be NC" Competition Dining Series starts tonight at 6 p.m. at 214 Martin Street in Raleigh. The two-week long battle gives the public the chance to be a judge and taste some of the best food from some of Raleigh's best chefs. Tickets start at $59 and are available now.

Don't miss a spectacular showcase as the Lar Lubovitch Dance Company performs at DPAC tonight at 8 p.m.

Steve Gunn will perform with The Dead Tongues at Kings Barcade at 8:30 p.m.

The Competition Dining Series continues tonight - same time, same place - with Battle 2.

On a similar note, two restaurants - Gravy and Sitti - are dueling it out for best cuisine at 6 p.m. in the courtyard behind both restaurants on Wilmington Street. This four-course feast will include two plates per course, one from each restaurant, and a glass of wine.

The Raleigh Downtown Farmers Market returns to City Plaza from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. today.

Then, Miss D and her Dancing Dolls, the stars of Lifetime’s hit series “Bring It!,” will perform live at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. The show will feature dancing, audience participation and more. Tickets start at $32.

Theatre in the Park presents Hair, the musical story of a group of hippies who celebrate peace and love in the shadow of war, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $30. The show continues through Sunday.

Raymond "Ray" Charles Jack LaMontagne, an American singer-songwriter, will perform at Red Hat Amphitheater at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $30.
