Chippy's Dreams

An 11-year-old girl with ties to the Triangle is sharing her love of pets and raising money for a local animal rescue.

With her grandmother Rita Bahn of Cary, Lili Shirin Bhan wrote a children’s book based on a true story of her adoption of her pet guinea pig, Chippy.

It’s a story about finding friendship and love while overcoming obstacles.

This past weekend, Lili held a reading of “Chippy’s Dreams” and signed copies of her book at Carolina Preserve. More than 100 children and adults attended.

Between book sales and donations, the event raised more than $1,000 for the Carolina Tiger Rescue Center in Pittsboro.
