1 Dead After Accident on N.C. 55 in Cary
One vehicle hydroplaned on NC 55 and crossed over the center lane where another vehicle T-boned it, officials said.
Posted — UpdatedCARY, N.C. — An accident shut down all but one lane on N.C. Highway 55 near High House Road in Cary just before 7 p.m. Friday.
Two drivers were taken to the hospital, and one passenger, David Pope, 45, of Raleigh was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Cary officials. The drivers' names have not been released.

It was not immediately clear who was at fault, and authorities have not said whether charges would be filed.
